Sligo IFA chairperson urges department to ‘move on’ with REPS scheme

A leading farm official in the north west has raised concerns in relation to the new  REPS scheme.

The proposed REPS-type scheme in the Programme for Government is seen as being vital for farmers in these difficult and challenging times.

However, it seems that despite the scheme being launched with a blaze of publicity, staff at the Department of Agriculture have not yet been provided any directives in relation to the scheme.

Sligo IFA Chairperson Kathleen Henry is calling on the government to move the scheme on.
