Emergency services complete successful rescue in Ballyshannon



Emergency services were involved in a successful operation on the Erne Estuary yesterday.

The rescue operation took place near Ballyshannon’s Mail Quay.

The operation involved the removal to safety of man after his boat hit rocks close to Inis Saimer Island at around 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

The rescue operation involved the Rescue 118 helicopter, the Bundoran RNLI crew and the National ambulance service. An inland fisheries craft was used to remove the man from the stricken boat.
