Green party encourage women to play active role



A leading Green party member in the north west has defended the fact that the party only spent 500 euro of state funding on promoting the participation of women in politics last year.

 

The revelation was contained in the party’s declaration to the standards in Public office Commission.

 

Bláithín Gallagher is the National Coordinator and Chairperson of the National Executive Committee Green Party.

 

She says gender balance is taken very seriously by the Greens and that they encourage women to play a leading role in all aspects of the party:
