A Sligo Leitrim TD has raised concerns over the backlog in the courts system.
Deputy Martin Kenny is the Sinn Fein spokesperson on Justice and Equality
He recent asked raised a Parliamentary Question on the issue with the Justice Minister Helen McEntee.
Currently there is a backlog of 95,000 court cases.
Deputy Kenny claims the waiting time is impacting on those involved in with the cases, and legal professionals.
With more summonses being issued on a daily basis ,the Sligo Leitrim TD says immediate action needs to be taken and he suggested measures such as more and longer court sittings and a greater use of available technology:
