The Public Expenditure Minister says a government review into pay for student nurses will be completed by the end of this month.
There’s been criticism after the government voted down a motion which would’ve reinstated paying student nurses and midwives during the pandemic.
Sligo independent Councillor Marie Casserly had a recent motion passed at a Sligo Council meeting to waver nursing registration fees for student nurses.
Cllr Casserly says it’s only right that nurses should be rewarded for all of their efforts in the battle against Covid-19.
