Vital Brexit talks continue today

British and EU negotiators will continue talks in London today, with less than four weeks to go until the Brexit transition period ends.

The sides remain divided on fisheries and other issues.

The UK’s admission that hopes of a Brexit deal are ‘receding’ has been described ‘theatrics’ by some observers.

Number 10 has cast doubt on the chances of an agreement, accusing the EU of bringing ‘new elements’ to the table.

The sticking points are still fishing which could have a major impact on the industry here in the north west and the ‘level playing field’ with those topics set to be discussed further over the weekend.

There will be a no-deal Brexit if an agreement is not ratified by December 31st.

Midlands-Northwest MEP Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan says he thinks it’s possible to finalise an agreement by then.
