Harkin urges Barnier to prioritise fisheries



EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier had been warned by EU leaders not to rush into an unsatisfactory trade deal with the UK or fall into any Brexit negotiating trap laid by the UK involving fisheries.

 

There are concerns that any agreement would be reached on all other issues with only fisheries left outstanding if this was to pass it would have major consequences for the fishing industries

 

 

Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin says there can be no agreement unless it delivers sustainable wide ranging access for the European fishing fleet to British waters.
