Cllr Healy: Fix Mountain Foot Road while the Long Stretch remains prone to flooding

A Sligo councillor is calling for work to be done on the Mountain Foot Road which is regularly used by motorists when the Long Stretch is flooded.

The Long Stretch is the main route for many motorists from the Dromahair and Ballintogher areas to Carraroe, on the outskirts of Sligo town.

But when it’s flooded, the route known locally as the Mountain Foot Road is used by many motorists, many of them commuters going to and from work.

However, Cllr, Thomas Healy says that until a lasting solution is found to the recurring flooding problem on the Long Stretch, there is a need for work on the Mountain Foot Road.
