A Donegal Sinn Fein TD says his party colleague Brian Stanley will address his Public Accounts Committee colleagues after he deleted a tweet which prompted a backlash online.
The post referred to the War of Independence and the Troubles.
Deputy Stanley has since apologised for the tweet.
Some are calling for Sinn Fein to discipline Deputy Stanley in some way, which may include removing his as chair of the committee.
The party’s Finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty says there are people in the group who don’t want him to stand aside:
