Leitrim only county to have no new Covid cases yesterday



Leitrim was the only county in the country to report no new Covid cases yesterday.

There were twenty new Covid cases in County Donegal. The previous day there were 16.

There were fewer than five cases in Sligo and Cavan.

Fourteen-day figures for local electoral areas were also announced.

There were 35 in the south Donegal area, 30 in the Ballymote/Tubbercurry area, 12 in Sligo/Strandhill, 11 in the Manorhamilton area of north Leitrim and 6 in Sligo/Drumcliffe area.

An announcement on lifting level 5 Covid-19 restrictions will be made by the Taoiseach later today.

NPHET wants restaurants and pubs to only offer takeaway in December, but the Government is expected to go against the advice and open them.

Donall O’Keeffe, Chief Executive of the Licenced Vintners’ Association, says all hospitality outlets should be allowed reopen — or none at all.
