A Sligo/Leitrim TD has outlined in graphic detail the struggles now being endured by many students and parents as they strive to deal with Covid-19 restrictions, costs and stresses.
Difficulties include little or no on-campus tuition, no training placements, and accommodation companies insisting on payment despite accommodation not being used, all while many parents and students are struggling to stay healthy and motivated.
Independent Deputy Marian Harkin highlighted the current situation in the Dail, as she read a letter she received from a parent who feels voiceless.
