Funding for Innovation Centres at three ITs

Innovation centres at the three Connacht-Ulster Alliance colleges — IT Sligo, Letterkenny IT and Galway Mayo IT — have been awarded funding of almost half a million euro.

The centres provide space and training for entrepreneurs, allowing them to work remotely, get training and advice and network with others

Dr Chris O’Malley, head of research and innovation at IT Sligo, has been telling Ocean FM News about the significance of the funding for the three colleges, which are hoping to soon become a technological university.
