Dolan reiterates support for ‘integrated status’ for Brollagh school

A Sinn Fein MLA is calling for a Catholic-controlled school near Belleek to be changed to what’s called ‘integrated status.’

Jemma Dolan met this week with the North’s Education Minister Peter Weir to reiterate her support for the proposal for St Mary’s High School in Brollagh.

The school, first opened in 1965, describes itself as ‘a non-selective Catholic maintained school that welcomes pupils of all ability levels.’

It says its vision is as a high aspiring and achieving school that is the hub of the local community, providing a first-class education for all pupils.

Assembly member Dolan, a past pupil of the school, called on Minister Weir to look favourably on the proposal for integrated status.

She told Ocean FM News that St Mary’s High School means much to the local community.
