Former Sligo Senator secures SIPO position



The Dáil have voted by 87 votes to 57 in favour of appointing the former Sligo Senator Geraldine Feeney to the Standards in public Office Commission.

 

After leaving the Seanad Geraldine Feeney was a registered lobbyist who acted on behalf of the NAGP.

 

The former Senator was nominated to SIPO by the Government.

 

The move was questioned by Sinn Fein who claimed her appointment would not be appropriate given Miss Feeny’s work on behalf of the National Association of GP’s
