CMO encouraged by ‘positive trajectory’ in fight against Covid-19.



 

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre reported 16 additional deaths related to COVID-19 in the latest set of figures they released. 14 of the deaths occurred in November and 1 in October, while a further death remains under investigation.

 

There were 270 new cases reported yesterday which included 21 in Donegal.  The numbers for Sligo and Leitrim were both in the less than 5 category.

 

The Chief Medical Officer says he’s encouraged by the country’s ‘positive trajectory’ in the fight against Covid-19.

 

However Dr Tony Holohan has urged people to remain vigilant despite significant improvements in the profile of the disease.

 

The estimated 14 day incidence rate is now 152 – more than half of the peak on October 25th when the figure reached 309.
