Russian time capsule discovered in Donegal

A Russian time capsule from 2018 was found 4,000km from where it was buried.

Conor McClory and Sophie Curran found the item while walking along the shore in Gaoth Dobhair.

The capsule was originally buried in the North Pole by passengers aboard the ’50 Years of Victory’ ship, a nuclear-powered icebreaker which has been used for tourists since 1989.

Speaking to OceanFM news, Conor explains how they both discovered it and also how it’s somewhat worrying that it only took 2 years for the ice that it was buried in to melt.
