Assurances sought from Bank of Ireland in relation to Bundoran Branch

A Donegal Councillor has expressed his concern over the recent decision taken by Bank of Ireland to temporarily close their Bundoran Branch.

The action was taken so as to free up staff to cover in the main branch in Letterkenny after staff there were self-isolating.

The branch in Bundoran and a number of outlets In Donegal have returned to normal service in recent weeks, however there is still concern in Bundoran that the remaining bank in the town could close again.

Local Sinn Fein Councillor Mick McMahon recently had a motion passed by the Donegal Municipal District Councillors requesting the local authority contact the governor of Bank of Ireland and secure assurances in relation to the long term future of the Bundoran branch of Bank of Ireland.

Speaking to Ocean FM News New Cllr. McMahon says it’s vital that Bundoran holds on to the Bank.
