Sligo hurler returns positive Covid test

Ocean FM Sport has learned that a Sligo hurler has tested positive for Covid-19.

The player was involved with the squad in last Sunday’s Division 3B League final win against Leitrim in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.

Sligo GAA is awaiting protocol information from the HSE.

It’s understood the entire hurling squad will be tested for Covid on Friday.

Sligo are due to travel to Celtic park this Sunday to play Derry in the opening round of the Christy Ring Cup.

The Sligo hurling panel also includes three dual players – Mikey Gordon, Conor Griffin and Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch, who also have football commitments this weekend on Saturday against Limerick in Division 4.
