Kenny’s forestry Bill to be debated in the Dáil

A Sligo Leitrim TD will bring a Bill to second stage in the Dáil on this evening (Thursday) which if passed would make forestry developments over five hectares subject to planning permission.

Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny first introduced the Bill in 2018 after concerns were raised over the large number of forestations in Leitrim.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Kenny says forestry plantations have a significant impact on people living near them, and should subject to planning permission like any other development.
