Local farm official not happy with broken budget promises



Reacting to Budget 2021, the IFA President Tim Cullinan acknowledged the renewal of essential tax reliefs and the equalisation of the self-employed tax credit with the PAYE credit and the continued funding of farm schemes.

 

 

Mur Cullinan was quoted as saying that this Budget needed to take into account the looming threat of Brexit. In 2019 €110m was set aside for a Brexit reserve, he called for immediate clarity on the status of this fund and what precisely has been set aside for Brexit.

 

Elsewhere a leading north west farm official has accused the government of doing a number of U-turns on pre-election promises in budget 2020.
