Donegal win championship dress rehearsal against Tyrone

Donegal enjoyed a 2-17 to 2-13 win against Tyrone in Ballybofey as Allianz Football League football resumed at MacCumhaill after a wait of eight months.

Goals from St Naul’s Peader Mogan and Bundoran’s Jamie Brennan helped Declan Bonner’s side to a deserved four-point win.

The same two sides are scheduled to meet in the Ulster Championship at the same venue in two weeks time.

Donegal were without the injured Paddy McBrearty and Michael Langan for this game.

Both sides observed a minute’s silence before throw-in in memory of former Tyrone goalkeeper Johnny Curran who passed away at the age of 33 following a heart attack at the weekend.

Curran, from Coalisland, won three Ulster senior football titles with Tyrone and was a substitute goalkeeper on the 2008 All-Ireland senior title winning panel.
