Increasing number of Covid-19 cases across the north west.



The latest 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 cases has been published by the National Health Protection surveillance centre.

 

The figures provide the number of confirmed cases in the various local electoral areas from September 22nd to October 5th.

 

Compared to last week’s figures, all the local electoral areas with the exception of the Manorhamilton local electoral area where the number remains at less than five have registered more cases compared to the previous figures which were published last week.

 

Despite level 3 restrictions being imposed in the County of Donegal since September 24th the number of cases in the Donegal electoral area was recorded at 51. the highest number for any of the 5 districts in the Ocean FM franchises area.

 

In Sligo a total of 49 cases have been reported in the fourteen day period.

The highest number was registered in the Sligo/ Strandhill Local electorate area where 31 cases were recorded.  11 cases were registered in the Sligo/Drumcliff electoral area while 7 cases were confirmed in the Ballymote/ Tubbercurry local electoral area.

 

 

In yesterday’s daily figures the National Health Protection surveillance centre confirmed that there was one additional death from Covid-19 and 506 new cases which included 53 in Donegal.

 

60 cases first reported on Wednesday were also added to Donegal’s total number yesterday while 11 additional cases were allocated to Sligo and 2 additional cases were added to Leitrim’s total number of cases.
