NPHET recommend level 5 restrictions



We should find out later if we are going back into lockdown.

 

The National Public Health Emergency Team has recommended all counties be moved to level five restrictions after more than 600 Covid cases were recorded on Saturday.

 

The number of Covid-19 cases in the north west has increased by at least 111 over the past two days.

 

In the latest figures released by health officials yesterday evening, Donegal’s figures rose by 31, while an additional 58 cases from Saturday were also confirmed for the County.

 

Yesterday’s figures also confirmed 14 news cases for Sligo, when added to the figures from Saturday it brings to 21 the number of new Covid-19 cases in Sligo over the past 48 hours.

 

One additional case was added to Leitrim’s figures  from Saturday.

 

Dr Tomás Ryan from Trinity College, says ultimately the decision lies with senior Ministers.
