Gardaí are warning of a new phishing email doing the rounds.
People have received and email claiming to be from the ‘The Irish Justice Department’, which does not exist, and asks people to sign up for jury duty by going to a cloned website.
A person’s name, date of birth and PPS number is sought is users click the link.
Gardaí are advising people to never respond, click links or give any personal information to these websites and to contact them.
In regards to this specific email, people are never asked to register for jury service this way as they are contacted by summons for jury service by the County Registrar.
