Further restrictions imposed to halt the spread of Covid



In the latest daily figures published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, there were 4 deaths due to Covid-19, 442 new cases were recorded nationally.  28 new cases were confirmed for Donegal, while 31 cases first reported on Wednesday were also allocated to the County.

 

The number of cases in Sligo and Leitrim remained unchanged in yesterday’s figures.

 

Visits to homes will be restricted to six people from one household nationally to stop the spread of Covid-19.

 

The National Public Health Emergency team has made the recommendation which has been accepted by Government, as well as keeping each county on its current Level in the restrictions.

 

Dr Nuala O’Connor, lead advisor  on Covid-19 at the Irish College of GPs, says we can expect far more pressure on our hospitals in the weeks ahead.
