A Donegal TD has strongly criticised Fianna Fáil’s support for a penalty points system for those in the fishing industry.
Donegal Sinn Fein TD Padraig McLochlainn will have a motion to annul the penalty points system voted on this evening in the Dáil.
Fellow Donegal Independent TD, Thomas Pringle, expects the Sinn Fein Bill to be rejected when the Dáil votes.
He says Fianna Fáil will pass the penalty points through, despite the problems it will create for fishermen in Donegal and elsewhere:
