Listen Back: Mohill v St. Mary’s Leitrim SFC final

Keith Beirne was the star of the show with eight points to help Mohill overcome a determined St. Mary’s side in the Leitrim SFC final.

Dominant in the first half, Mary’s looked threatening on the counter but couldn’t punish the Mohill defence in front of goal.

Youngsters Paul Keaney and Mark Diffley were key for Mary’s, who held a one point lead heading into half time, 0-6 to 0-5.

Mohill came out of the blocks flying in the second half, with Ronan Kennedy kicking three second half scores to put the game to bed.

Despite some last ditch efforts from impressive substitute James McGrail, Mary’s just didn’t have the experience of Mohill to come back into the game.

Full time: Mohill 0-14 St. Mary’s 0-9.

Captain Daniel Beck was awarded the trophy for Mohill, who won their eighth Leitrim SFC title.
