Restrictions to put thousands of jobs a risk in Donegal



In the latest Covid-19 figures published yesterday there were 3 additional deaths from the virus.

 

324 new cases were confirmed, 42 of those cases were confirmed in Donegal.

 

30 cases first reported on Wednesday were also allocated to the County.  One additional case was allocated to Sligo, Leitrim’s number remained unchanged.

 

6 new cases were reported in Roscommon yesterday with 3 cases that were first reported on Wednesday also being allocated to the county.

 

It’s feared that 5,000 jobs will be lost in Donegal as a result of the new restrictions, according to the Restaurants Association of Ireland.

 

Chief executive Adrian Cummins says hundreds of restaurants, hotels, cafes and pubs will close.

 

Agriculture Minister and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue says the measures are necessary.
