Calls were made at this week’s meeting of the Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim County Council for cameras to be installed at Creevelea Abbey in Dromahair.
The issue has been complicated over ownership issues surrounding the Abbey between the OPW and the local Authority.
Local Councillor, Padraig Fallon says there have been historical issues concerning the popular tourist attraction and burial grounds.
He says cameras would help address concerns over concerns with anti-social behaviour and the dumping of rubbish on the site.
