A Leitrim Councillor has criticised the government for expecting students and their families to pay full fees for partial access to campus and facilities.
Manorhamilton MD Councillor Padraig Fallon says many student and their families are unsure how much time they will have to spend on campus in the new academic year with online learning also expected to play a major role in some courses.
The Sinn Fein Councillor says the government are failing to recognise the financial burden college fees place on students that are looking to secure private or campus accommodation.
The Drumkeerin based Councillor says it’s unfair to seek full fees for students that will only be using the campus facilities on a part time basis.
