Removal of Lifebuoys is putting lives at risk.

We found out on North West Today that Java the dog has more of a sense of responsibility when it comes to public safety on water than some humans.

Java recently retrieved a Lifebuoy from the Erne Estuary.

Donegal Fine Gael Barry Sweeny was a guest on the North West Today show to discuss the dangers of removing or damaging Lifebuoys.

Those found guilty for committing such offences could face a 50,000 Euro fine or spend five years in prison.
