Group of Northern bottlenose Whales stranded on Rossnowlagh beach



A live stranding of a group of Northern Bottlenose Whales have appeared on Rosnowlagh beach, in Co. Donegal today.

In a Twitter post, the Irish Dolphin and Whale Group state they are administering first aid and say that some are stranded on the beach with the remainder in the water

The animals are alive but have a high breathing rate and are very stressed.

Representatives from the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Donegal County Council are at the scene assessing the situation.
