A major boost is on the way for the south Sligo town of Ballymote.
It’s the planned opening of a new childcare and after-school facility in what was Fawlty’s public house on O’Connell Street in the town.
Sligo County Council has granted planning permission for the change of use of the building from a public house with residential accommodation to use as as a childcare and afterschool facility with playrooms, rest roms, dining room, study rooms, and outdoor play area.
It’s also planned to open a restaurant/coffee shop in the building.
The childcare and afterschool facility will be operated by Claire Barden, who for years has been operating the award-wining Learn Early Montessori Academy and Creche at Corn Mill Park on the Gurteen Road in Ballymote.
She has been telling Ocean Fm News about her latest plans.
