Sligo Gardaí arrested a man yesterday in relation to shop thefts.
The person, who Gardaí say is a known gang member, used a bag lined with foil in an attempt to fool security systems in places such as chemists and jewellers where Gardaí believe he stole expensive perfume and jewellery.
He was arrested after a short chase and taken to Ballymote Garda Station.
Gardaí are asking business owners to be on the lookout for bags such s his where the inside has been modified and to report any suspicious activity.
