Glencar’s All-Ireland winner Jim McCabe dies



The death has been announced of Glencar’s Jim McCabe after a lengthy illness.

He was 89.

McCabe, a native of Ballinagh in Cavan, won an All-Ireland senior title with the Breffni County in 1952.

His playing career brought him lots of success at club and county level.

He also won a national league with Cavan – and helped Sligo to win a Connacht Junior Football Title in 1956.

He won club honours with UCD in Dublin, UCC in Cork as well as a senior club championship with Ballinagh in Cavan.
