Doctor’s advice: With masks now mandatory, don’t forget the other precautions

With it now mandatory to wear a face mask in shops, retail centres and other indoor public areas, a Sligo GP is urging people not to forget the other precautionary measures in the effort to combat the Covid-19 virus.

New laws now mean anyone who doesn’t wear a mask could face a fine of 2,500 euro or up to six months in prison.

The rules don’t apply to children under 13 or someone with a disability or physical or mental illness.

Dr Roddy Quinn says it’s important that people do not forget other measures such as social distancing and coughing etiquette.
