Sligo councillor says house adaption grant money already allocated

The government has announced an allocation of almost €74m for housing adaptation grants.

However, a Sligo councillor says that in some cases, councils have already allocated the money.

Housing adaptation grants are used to help older people and those with disabilities living in private houses, and in situations such when people need to make changes to their home when discharged after a hospital stay.

Independent Councillor Michael Clarke says Sligo County Council, like other local authorities, could have done with more money.
