The increase in the number of people holidaying locally has led to an unprecedented surge in mountain rescue call outs.
And among the forefront in recent days has been the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team.
Speaking to OceanFM news, the Leader of the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue team, Ciaran Davis, says with more people embarking on mountain activity without taking proper precautions or having adequate experience there is a greater chance of accidents occurring.
Locally the mountain rescue team have dealt with four serious incidents recently and Ciaran Davis says they have notice a greater demand for their services:
