British navy vessel confronts Killybegs trawler

A Donegal TD has expressed his concerns this evening in relation to reports that the British navy confronted a Killybegs-registered trawler off the Donegal coast.

Reports claim the fishing boat was ordered away from Irish fishing waters by the British Navy.

Sinn Fein Spokesman on foreign affairs and defence John Brady has accused the British navy of ‘arrogance of the highest order’

He says it was a case of a foreign power ordering an Irish vessel out of Irish waters.

Donegal Independent TD Thomas Pringle is calling on the Department of Foreign Affairs to launch an investigation into the incident.
