Elsewhere, St Mary’s Kiltoghert suffered a heavy defeat as they were beaten by Mohill by 2-14 to 0-7.

In Sligo, an injury-time free by senior championship debutant Eoghan Smith earned Drumcliffe/Rosses Point a draw against Tubbercurry in Saturday’s opening match of the 2020 Homeland senior football championship Group 1 contest in Collooney. The north Sligo club had led at half-time by 1-8 to 0-4 but a strong second-half showing from Tubber looked to have turned the contest until Smith slotted over the late equaliser.

In Group 2, last year’s beaten county finalists Coolera/Strandhill comfortably beat Geevagh by 0-14 to 0-6.
