Doherty says staycation subsidy excludes people not earning a taxable income

The staycation subsidy is being criticised by Sinn Fein for excluding people not earning a taxable income.

Under the July Stimulus plan people can get up to 125 euro back on 625 euro spent on accommodation or restaurant bills.

The party says the system is also too complicated and special vouchers should have been given out to everyone instead.

Deputy Pearse Doherty says the situation is ridiculous.
