Councillors Walsh, Healy welcome Ballintogher footpath and road works

Two local Sligo councillors are welcoming long-awaited road and footpath works in the village of Ballintogher.

The second of three phases of the works start today and is expected to last about two weeks.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says there will be diversions in place.

Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh says the works will make the area safer, adding that speeding had been a problem.
