Donegal councillor calls for ‘proper funding’ for roads scheme

A Donegal councillor is calling on the government to properly fund the Local Improvement Scheme for private roads or else scrap the scheme altogether.

Fianna Fail Councillor Micheal Naughton says there are more than 1,200 roads in County Donegal, with 400 of them in the Donegal Municipal District that stretches from Bundoran to Glencolmcille.

Cllr Naughton says throwing crumbs at this scheme is just giving false hope to people that work will be done.
