Leitrim Gaels make winning start to senior championship

Leitrim Gaels made a winning start to the 2020 Connacht Gold senior club football championship on Saturday night with an impressive 1-15 to 1-7 win against Melvin Gaels.

In the same Group 2, holders Glencar/Manorhamilton ran out 1-12 to 0-8 winners against Allen Gaels, who have several good goal scoring chances throughout the game. Had any of the been converted, the contest could have finished much closer.

In Group 1, Fenagh/St Caillin’s enjoyed a three-point win against St Mary’s while Ballinmore just edged a titanic struggle with Mohill in a repeat of last year’s county semi-final.
