Taoiseach called on to make amends and select local Minister

A former Sligo/ Leitrim Fianna Fail TD has called on the Taoiseach to appoint a successor to Barry Cowen from the North West or West of the Country.

Barry Cowen was sacked as Agriculture Minister by the Taoiseach after the Offaly TD refused to provide further public statements on his 2016 drink driving offence.

Speaking to OceanFM news former Sligo Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon says the Taoiseach should now make amends for leaving the western seaboard without ministerial representation in his original selection of Ministers in the government coalition with the Fine Gael and the Green Party.
