Sligo publican demands clarity from public health officials on reopening pubs

A Sligo Publican is calling on public health officials to make a decision today on whether they can reopen or not next Monday.

The National Public Health Emergency Team is meeting to discuss if the remaining pubs can open their doors next week, as part of Phase 4 of the easing of restrictions.

There is growing speculation that bars that do not serve food will be forced to wait for longer before they can re-open due to fears over the number of Covid-19 cases increasing.

Local Publican Blaine Gaffney says it’s a hugely frustrating time for pubs that have not yet re-opened
