Closure of local water park is a massive blow to Drumshanbo tourism sector

The Drumshanbo Blueway Water Park, will close later this week due to spiralling insurance costs.

The proprietors of the popular leisure attraction which is situated on the banks of Lough Allen and has been in operation over the past couple of summers have been quoted an increase of 150% of an increase on last year’s insurance premium for the facility which attracted large numbers to the locality.

The decision to close the popular local tourist attraction this week has been described as ‘massive’ blow to the local business economy by Drumshanbo Fine Gael Councillor, Enda McGloin.
