CMO warns against foreign travel as Covid-19 cases increase in Sligo



The number of Covid-19 cases in Sligo has increased.

 

 

The Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan, expressed his concern yesterday evening at what he described as ‘a worrying trend’ of an increase in the numbers of reported Covid-19 cases and some new clusters.

 

One such cluster is located here in the North West where the transmission of it is travel-related, originating in Iraq.

 

Although no deaths from Covid 19 were recorded here yesterday, twenty four new cases of the Coronavirus including three in Co. Sligo have been confirmed in the Republic over the past twenty four hours.

 

There are currently 128 cases in Sligo, 464 in Donegal and 78 in Leitrim.
