Holders Glencar/Manor to face Melvin Gaels again in championship



Defending champions Glencar/Manorhamilton will face north Leitrim rivals Melvin Gaels yet again in the group stages of the 2020 Connacht Gold senior football championship.

Friday night’s draw saw Seán Boylan’s side drawn in Group 2 along with Melvin Gaels, Allen Gaels, Drumreilly and last year’s intermediate champions.

In Group 1, the beaten finalists from 2019 Seán O’Heslin’s will play Mohill, Fenagh St Caillin’s, St Mary’s and Aughawillan in the group stages.

The top four from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals – with the bottom placed teams contesting the relegation final.

Fixtures and dates will be confirmed in due course.

In the Smith monumentals intermediate championship, last year’s county finalists Drumkeerin were drawn in group 1 along with rivals Ballingleara, Aughnasheelin, Eslin and Bornacoola.

St Pat’s Dromahair, relegated from the senior championship last year, are in Group 2 .
