With just over twenty four hours to go until the counting of votes on the programme of government from party members of Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and the Greens, a local Fianna Fail Councillor has confirmed that he and other grassroots members in North Leitrim have voted against the programme and the proposed collation.
The confirmation from Kinlough based Councillor Justin Warnock that he has rejected the deal is at odds with earlier claims from Fianna Fail leader Michael Martin which claimed that the six Leitirm Councillors who had earlier contacted him and urged him not to enter the arrangement were ‘reconsidering their position’.
Cllr Warnock says he has not changed his stance and informed his party leader of his decision late last week.
